The Stony Brook University women's swimming team has a good showing at the UConn Invitational, which was a non-scoring meet.
Senior Shirlee Manoogian paced the Seawolves, as she finished first in the 400 IM (4:31.08) and set a new school record in the 100 butterfly (57.99).
Senior Alison Porteus nabbed a second place finish in the 100 breaststroke (1:07.21).
On the men's side, Nathan French led the way for the Seawolves with a second place finish in the 100 backstroke (57.44) and third in the 200 IM (2:04.08). Bryce Cullinane finished first in his inaugural race as a Seawolf after trasferring from the University of Hawaii, as he placed first in the 1000 freestyle (10:08.31). Jon Sigurosson, a freshman from Iceland, captured the 50 free (22.08) and touched second in the 100 breaststroke (59:53). Vladimir Sreckovic finished third in the 200 breast (2:16.59) while Ruslan Safarov placed third in 200 backstroke (2:06.21).
Chris Pai, a transfer from Brandeis, finished second in the 50 free (22.16) and was a member of the third-place 200 freesylte relay team along with Chris Pai, Sigurosson, Dan Piastuck, and Alex Kissel.
The Seawolves travel to Amherst to take on UMass on October 29th at 1:00 p.m.
