The Stony Brook University women's swimming and diving team fell to UMass thia afternoon, 172-124. Senior Shirlee Manoogian had two victories on the afternoon.
The 200 yard medley relay team of Kim Harris, Alison Porteus, Shirlee Manoogian, and Courtney Teague finished second (1:51.66). Senior Jamie Bevilacqua finished second in the 50 free (25.47), and third in the 200 free (1:58.28), and 500 free (5:17.61).
Alison Desanti had a third place finish in the 1000 free (11:20.89) on the afternoon, while the Seawolves had the top two finishers in the 100 backstroke as freshman Lucy Liu nabbed the victory with a time of 1:01.36, and senior Kim Harris finished second at 1:02.28. Liu also finished first in the 200 back (2:13.04), while Harris touched third in a time of 2:14.71. Porteus won the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:08.10 and the 200 breast with a time of 2:29.27.
Manoogian claimed a victory in the 200 butterfly as she touched the wall in 2:07.17. Teague finished third in the 50 free (25.84) and 100 free (55.06). The Seawolves swept the top three spots in the 200 IM as Manoogian nabbed first (2:09.15), Desanti second (2:17.98), and freshman Kym Sgrignoli placed third (2:22.72).
Stony Brook went, one-two-three in the 400 freestyle relay, with the team of Harris, Autumn Griggers, Teauge, and Bevilacqua placed first (3:40.80) and the squad of Liu, Porteus, Sgrignoli, and Manoogian placed second (3:51.58), and Jessica Gleason, Rebecca Porteus, Tricia Palmeri, and Regina Kearney finished third (4:08.13).
The Seawolves return to action when they travel to take on Fordham on November 9th.
