HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP) - Loren Stokes became Hofstra's 26th 1,000-point scorer Wednesday night, scoring 29 points on 11-of-14 shooting in the Pride's 73-56 victory over winless Stony Brook.

Zygis Sestokas added 10 points for Hofstra (5-2), which led 33-21 at the half.

Mike Popoko led Stony Brook (0-6) with 15 points.

Stokes scored eight points to help the Pride, 16-3 overall against Stony Brook, take a 17-0 lead, their largest advantage of the game.
