The Stony Brook men's basketball team travels to take on Boston University in an America East matchup on Wednesday night. The Seawolves (9-14, 4-1) have never won at Case Gymnasium in its previous three outings. Tip-off is 7 p.m.
Last Time We Met: The Terriers earned a 65-47 win over Stony Brook at the Indoor Sports Complex on January 22. Rashad Bell had 19 points and Etienne Brower added 17 to pace the Terriers.
A Balanced Attack: Stony Brook used a balanced attack in its win over Hartford as four players scored in double figures. Cori Spencer led the way with 17 points while Antwan Hardy (16), Jairus McCollum (13) and Bobby Santiago (12) also finished in double digits. The Seawolves shot 51 percent for the game.
Cori Goes On Offense: Cori Spencer dominated the Hawks, scoring 17 points on 5-for-8 shooting and grabbing six rebounds. He has averaged 16.0 points per game in his last two outings.
Hardy Regains Form: After going a couple of games without reaching double figures, Antwan Hardy has averaged 14.5 points per game in his last two outings. He has scored in double figures 15 times this season and has a chance to set a new mark for double-digit scoring efforts for a Stony Brook rookie. D.J. Munir scored in double figures 18 times during the 2000-01 season.
Bobby Showing Scoring Touch: Bobby Santiago has been solid on the offensive end recently. In his last six games, he has averaged 12.3 ppg., raising his season average to 10.3 ppg.
His 20-point effort against Albany was highlighted by five three-pointers, matching his career high. He also hit five threes against Rhode Island College back in December of 2002. Santiago also matched a career high with six assists in the same game.
The Macarchuk 800: Stony Brook head coach Nick Macarchuk is a veteran of 28 years as a Division I head coach. SB's final regular season game this year will be his 800th as a Division I head coach, making him one of only 17 active coaches to have reached that milestone.
