Men's Basketball Hosts Binghamton On Saturday Afternoon

The Stony Brook men's basketball team hosts Binghamton on Saturday afternoon at the Indoor Sports Complex. The Seawolves (9-15, 4-11) will look to avenge an earlier season loss to the Bearcats. Carl Reuter (play-by-play) and Tom Crowley (color) will have the call in a game televised live on MetroChannel.

Last Time Out: Stony Brook dropped a hard fought 57-50 decision to BU on Wednesday night. Both teams struggled offensively, but the Terriers outdid the Seawolves over the final 10 minutes of the game to come away with the win. Bobby Santiago led all Seawolves scorers with 16 points. Cori Spencer had 12 points and nine rebounds.

Versus Binghamton: Binghamton owns a 6-2 series edge since the teams moved to the Division I level.

Last Time We Met: Binghamton stifled the Seawolves, limiting them to only 16 first half points on 4-for-22 shooting en route to a 72-45 win in Binghamton on January 19. The Seawolves shot only 30 percent for the game in their worst loss of the season. Jairus McCollum had a team-high 17 points.

Spencer For Hire: Cori Spencer has been a force in the paint in the last three games. Last Saturday, he dominated the Hawks, scoring 17 points on 5-for-8 shooting and grabbing six rebounds. He followed that up with a 12-point, nine rebound effort in the loss to BU on Wednesday night. He has averaged 14.7 points per game in his last three outings.

State Of The Union: Stony Brook has dropped the first meeting between both NY State schools in the America East. SB fell to Binghamton on January 19 and Albany on February 2.

Tough On "D": Stony Brook has simply been outstanding on the defensive end in the last two games. The Seawolves held Hartford to 34.5 percent shooting last Saturday and limited BU to 38 percent on Wednesday night.

Home Sweet Home: Stony Brook looks for back-to-back wins at home for the first time since the beginning of the season. The Seawolves upended UMBC on February 5. Binghamton is 2-1 at the Indoor Sports Complex over the last three years.
