The Stony Brook women's tennis team defeated Albany 5-2 on Saturday afternoon in Bethlehem, Pa. With the victory, the Seawolves improve to 4-2 on the 2004-05 season.
The Seawolves took two of three doubles matches to take the opening point as Anne Cathrine Valle and Sandy Wijeratne earned an 8-2 win at No. 1 and Victoria Vasile and Rachel Kimelman teamed for an 8-5 victory at No. 3.
The top of the Seawolves lineup clinched the victory in singles play as Valle, Wijeratne and Hana Chovanova earned straight set wins at No. 1 through No. 3, respectively. Vasile won 8-2 in a proset at No. 6 to close out the win for Stony Brook.
The Seawolves are back in action tomorrow versus Lehigh in Bethlehem, Pa.
