Last Time We Met: Jamar Wilson had 18 points and Lucious Jordan added 14 as Albany overcame a 26-25 halftime deficit to register a 69-63 win. Bobby Santiago was the offensive spark for Stony Brook. The Man In The Middle: Cori Spencer enters the last week of the season on a roll. He averaged 16.0 points and nine rebounds in his last two games and sparked SB to its win over Binghamton last Saturday with his 13 points and team-high nine rebounds. He has averaged 15.0 ppg and 7.8 rpg over his last four games.
Bobby On Target: Junior guard Bobby Santiago is playing his best basketball of the season as the year draws to a close. He has scored in double figures in seven of his last eight games, averaging 13.3 ppg during that stretch - raising his season average to 10.5 ppg.
Last week, Santiago averaged 16.0 ppg.
1-2 Punch: The combination of Santiago and Spencer have propelled the Seawolves to win 2 of their last 3 games. The duo has combined to average 29.6 ppg. over the last three games, accounting for more than half of SB's scoring during that stretch.
State Of The Union: Stony Brook is 1-2 against its state rivals so far this season. SB is 1-1 vs. Binghamton and 0-1 vs. Albany.
Tough On "D": Stony Brook's improved play has coincided with its improvement on the defensive end. The Seawolves defense has been outstanding over the last week and a half. In its last three games, the Seawolves have held each opponent (Hartford - 34.5, BU - 38.0, and Binghamton - 36) to under 40 percent shooting for the game.
Playoff Possibilities: Entering the final week of the season, the Seawolves are guaranteed a 7-10 seed in the 2005 America East tournament. The Seawolves can finish no higher than No. 7 which means they will play on Friday, March 4th in a first round game either at 6 or 8:30 p.m.
Home Sweet Home: Stony Brook looks to win its third straight game at home for the first time this season when it faces Albany on Thursday night.
Senior Night: Seniors Cori Spencer, Mike Orfini, Jairus McCollum and Wilky Colin play their final home game in a Seawolf uniform on Thursday.
