Last Time Out: Despite missing its final 10 shots of the games, Stony Brook eked out a 42-40 win over UMBC on Saturday thanks to two Mike Popoko free throws with 7.1 seconds remaining in the game. Popoko and Bobby Santiago each finished with a game-high 11 points. Santiago also grabbed six rebounds and handed out three assists.

Versus Vermont: Vermont has won all eight meetings between the two teams, including at 76-59 decision earlier this year.

Last Time We Met T.J. Sorrentine scored a game-high 31 points and Taylor Coppenrath added 22 as Vermont earned a 76-59 win at the Indoor Sports Complex. UVM led by eight at halftime but used a 15-4 run early in the second half to blow the game open and go on to victory. Jairus McCollum led all Seawolves scorers with 14 points.

Bobby Showing Scoring Touch: Bobby Santiago has been solid on the offensive recently. Last week, he averaged 15.5 points per game, including a season-high 20-point outburst against Albany. On Saturday, he paced the Seawolves with 11 points, leading his team in scoring for the second straight game. His 20-point effort against Albany was highlighted by five three-pointers, matching his career high. He also hit five threes against Rhode Island College back in December of 2002. Santiago also matched a career high with six assists in the same game.

We Like Mike: Forward Mike Popoko also has been solid on offense over the last two weeks. He has averaged 11.8 points and 5.0 rebounds over his last four games and hit the game-winning free throws against UMBC on Saturday.

A Bit Chilly: The Stony Brook-UMBC matchup did not set any scoring records. SB went the final eight minutes of the game without a basket and shot only 26 percent from the field for the game, producing its lowest scoring output of the season with 42 points.

Road Facts: The Seawolves are 2-8 on the road this season.
