Men's Soccer Cruises to 5-2 Win Over Philadelphia

Easton, Pa. - Chris Megaloudis netted four goals to lead the Stony Brook men's soccer team to a 5-2 victory over Philadelphia at the Lafayette Puma Soccer Classic on Sunday afternoon. With the win, the Seawolves improved to 2-1-1 on the season, while the Rams fell to 1-2.

Adam Ciklic opened the scoring 5:32 into the contest after taking a pass from Matt Avellino and sneaking a shot inside the left post to give SB the 1-0 lead.

The Seawolves struck again at the 21:30 mark as Chris Scarpati's pass to the to the top of the box found Megaloudis, and he fired a shot inside the far post for a 2-0 SB lead at the half.

Megaloudis struck again 14:30 into the second frame before Philadelphia's Sherwin Forde answered with a goal off a deflection to make it 3-1. SB came right back, however, as Megaloudis countered with a pair of goals two minutes apart to put the Seawolves up 5-1. Chris Williams scored off a corner kick with 10 minutes to go, but that was as close as the Rams could get.

EJ Xikis (2-1-1) earned his second straight victory in net after turning away six shots, while Brian Tepfer made one save in the final seven minutes of the contest. Mike Wallover made five saves for the Rams in the loss.

The Seawolves are back in action on Tuesday when they travel to take on Howard at 2:00 p.m.
