The Stony Brook University men's basketball team finishes up it's two game road trip against Dartmouth on Tuesday night in Hanover, N.H. The Seawolves, who fell to Binghamton on Sunday night, enter the contest with a 2-10 record. The Big Green also have a 2-10 record after falling to Harvard on Saturday night. The game will be broadcast on WUSB 90.1 with Ray Alexander and Rob Emmerich calling the action.
Finally Making The Trip
Freshman center Andrew Goba visited the foul line for the first time in his career again Binghamton. Goba went 2-4 from the charity stripe on the evening for his only points.
Struggles From Downtown
The Seawolves struggled from beyond the arc against Binghamton, shooting just 19% on 4 of 21 shooting. It was Stony Brook's worst effort from three-point range on the year. It was the worst performance by the Seawolves since February 5, 2005 against UMBC when SB went 3-for-17, just over 17%, in a win at the Indoor Sports Complex.
Mitchell Beauford went 1-for-6 and is now 2-for-14 on the season from downtown.
The Seawolves starting five of Hendrik Feist, Mike Popoko, Goba, Beauford, and Bobby Santiago combined to go 3-for-18 against the Bearcats
Not Hitting the Glass
The Seawolves were dominated on the glass for the second-consecutive game, losing the rebound battle, 45-30, against Binghamton. Mike Popoko rebounds with five. Bamiro continued to be a burst of energy for the grabbed six boards for Stony Brook as did Beauford.
Career Night For Bamiro
Solomon Bamiro had his best game in a Seawolf jersey against Binghamton. Bamiro came off the bench to notch career highs in points with nine and Seawolves throwing home two dunks, including a highlight reel alley-oop from Santiago.
Hardy Makes It Count
Antwan Hardy made his biggest impact since the turn of the New Year, netting 11 points on 4 of 6 shooting against the Bearcats in 20 minutes of action.
Better "D"
Stony Brook held the Bearcats to just 33.3% shooting from the floor, the lowest percentage by a Seawolf opponent this season. Binghamton shot 16-for-48 from the field for 37 points. The Bearcats other 26 points came from the charity stripe
