Women's Swimming and Diving Falls to Maine, 140-98

Orono, Maine - Hailey Lewandowski won in the 1 and 3 meter dive and the trio of Brittany Whipple, Jessica Peters and Krista Klicpera swept the 100-yard breaststroke but it was enough enough as the Stony Brook University women's swimming and diving team fell to the University of Maine, 140-98 at the Stanley M. Wallace Pool. Stony Brook falls to 0-3, 1-0 in the America East while Maine is 3-1, 1-0 in the conference.

Lewandowski continued her strong diving easily winning the diving competition on Sunday afternoon.

Whipple, Peters and Klicpera posted times of 1:09.86, 1:13.16 and 1:14.48 in the event, respectively.

The women's team also placed one, two and three in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

The women's team returns to the pool when they travel to Brooklyn to face Iona and St. Francis (NY) in a tri-meet on Thursday, November 16 at 6 pm.
