Ricky Lucas was honored as the Stony Brook Athlete of the Week as he led the Seawolves to the biggest win in program history over Penn State on Friday evening.
In the Seawolves three games last week, Lucas was instrumental as he averaged 20.7 points a game and shot just over 44% from the field. In the Seawolves 76-72 loss at Cornell on last Monday evening, Lucas went for 20 points. When Seawolves shocked the Nittany Lions of Penn State on Friday night, 59-51, Lucas once again was a focal point in the victory. He scored a game-high 22 points, grabbed eight boards, and had four of Stony Brook's 12 steals in the game. In the home opener versus Navy, Lucas netted 20 points and added four rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
Lucas and the Seawolves return to action on Saturday afternoon at Columbia. Tip-off is slated for 2:00 p.m.
