Due to popular demand, Stony Brook Athletics has announced two additional clinics that will take place during the 2005-06 basketball season. The clinics will take place before the men's and women's basketball games over the weekend of February 25 and 26. Prior to the women's game against Albany on Saturday, February 25, the Seawolves will be hosting a National Girls and Women in Sports Day multi-sport clinic while there will be a basketball clinic before the men's team takes the court against Maine on Sunday, February 26.
On February 25, Stony Brook coaches and players will lead participants at the National Girls and Women and Sports Day clinic in drills and games in the sports of football, volleyball, soccer, basketball and track & field. Clinic participants will receive a t-shirt a gift bag, lunch and a ticket to the game that begins at 2:00 p.m. The clinic will begin at 11:30 a.m. and will run until approximately 1:30 p.m. Children will then have the opportunity to have lunch in the Indoor Sports Complex before the Seawolves take the court at 2 p.m. Additionally, a lecture will be offered by Athletic Department staff for parents regarding nutrition, fitness and wellness of young people while the children are going through the various stations in the clinic.
Stony Brook players and coaches will run the a basketball clinic from 11:30 to 12:30 on February 26 before the men take the court in their final home game of the season at 1 p.m.
Cost of the each clinic is just $5 and includes a ticket to the Seawolves game that day. Siblings and friends are invited to attend the clinic while adult tickets are available for $7 apiece. While at the game, cheer the Seawolves to victory and take a turn on the brand new Seawolves Moon Bounce!
