The duo of Victoria Vasile and Monica Myers proved victorious as the Stony Brook women's tennis team concluded play at Day 2 of the Quinnipiac Invitational.
In the singles flight, Sandy Wijeratne's bid was cut short as she fell to Seton Hall's Nadja Sein, 6-1, 6-1, in the quarterfinals. Erica Federgreen lost her first match of the day, 8-5, to Jessica Porter of Connecticut, but rebounded to defeat Tricia Small of Fairleigh Dickinson, 8-1.
The doubles team of Vasile and Myers advanced to the semi's with a, 9-8, win over Jennifer Marotta and Liz Dibbs of Connecticut.
In the consolation draw, Shaina Murugan defeated Nathalie Ranger of Seton Hall, 8-1, Victoria Vovsha lost to Jessica DeCarlos of Fairleigh Dickinson, 8-6, and Caitlin Crowley fell to Kasey Rosenberger of Quinnipiac, 9-7.
The Seawolves will wrap up play at the Quinnipiac Invitational on Sunday.
