Stony Brook, N.Y. -
Stony Brook University women's lacrosse senior midfielder Amy Taylor was recognized as the America East Player of the Week after she led the Seawolves to their first ever America East regular season championship this past weekend. Last week, she tallied nine points off six goals and three assists.
A native of Owings, Md., Taylor netted a hat trick in the Seawolves 15-14
loss to rival Hofstra in their non-conference finale. On Saturday, Taylor delivered a terrific performance as she tallied a game-high six points off three goals and three assists en route to clinching the No.1 seed in the upcoming America East Tournament. She also added nine draw controls on the week, seven coming at Vermont, to go along with three caused turnovers. The senior is currently riding a 53 game goal scoring streak in which she has netted 133 goals and 181 points.
Taylor and the Seawolves will take on Albany on Friday in the America East semifinals at LaValle Stadium.
