The Catamounts struck first in the top of the fourth inning when Kyle Henry sparked a two-out rally. Henry doubled to left and later scored when Jeff Heppner hit an RBI single down the left field line as Vermont led 1-0.

The Seawolves threatened in the fifth when Chris Cruz and Steven Mazzurco led off the frame with back-to-back singles. Following a double-steal, the Seawolves had runners on second and third with nobody out. Catamount starter Justin Albert retired the next three Stony Brook batters as he escaped the jam.

Vermont tacked on a run in the sixth, two in the seventh and one in the ninth as the Catamounts led 5-0 heading into the bottom of the ninth.

Stony Brook finally scored a run off Albert when Rob Dyer blasted a double off the wall in right to plate Leonard, who led off the frame with a triple to center. This was the only run that Albert allowed as Vermont held on to win, 5-1.

Jung (6-4) shouldered the loss, allowing four runs in 6.2 innings. Leonard finished the game 1-for-3 with a triple and a run scored and Dyer was 1-for-4 with an RBI double.

The Seawolves return to action on Friday when they play their final regular season series at UMBC. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. With their last win on Saturday, the Seawolves clinched a spot in the 2007 America East Tournament.
