Senior Gulce Nazli Dikecligil (Istanbul, Turkey) was named the America East volleyball Player of the Week for the fourth time this season on Monday afternoon. Dikecligil led the Seawolves to a perfect 2-0 record this week and helped Stony Brook pick up its first two conference victories of the year.
For the week, Dikecligil posted a 4.57 kills per set average, which was tops in the conference. She registered eight aces and her six attack errors were the fewest among any hitter in the league with at least 54 attempts. Dikecligil also chipped in with seven digs and two blocks.
This is the second-straight year a Stony Brook volleyball player has been named the Player of the Week four or more times in a season. Jackie Ahlers '08 won the award five times last season.
