STONY BROOK, N.Y. - The Stony Brook volleyball team has officially signed five newcomers ahead of the 2026 season; transfers Ella Sanders (Towson), Ellery Singleton (New Hampshire), and Damisi Osibodu (William & Mary), as well as incoming freshmen Avari Amstutz and Taryn Su.

Avari Amstutz | Outside Hitter | Auburn, Ohio | Kenston HS | RockCity Volleyball
A standout offensive and defensive player from Ohio, Avari Amstutz totaled 919 kills and 719 digs in her high school career. After leading Kenston High School to the regional finals in the 2025 Ohio State Tournament, Amstutz picked up All-Ohio Third Team honors, as well as her second All-District First Team award and her third All-Conference award. The four-year team captain also earned Conference Co-Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year, and MVP honors during her time at Kenston.
Taryn Su | Setter | North Potomac, Md. | Wootton HS | Metro Volleyball Club of DC
A four-year varsity setter at Wootton High School, Taryn Su racked up over 1650 career assists, 240 service aces, and 450 digs in her career. In 2024, she led her team to the Maryland State Championship, earning All-Met Second team honors for her efforts. The following year, Su was named MCPS Player of the Year, The Washington Post All-Met First Team, and All-County First Team for the third time in her career. Outside of high school, Su also experienced great success with her club team, Metro Volleyball Club of DC, most recently leading them to a third-place finish in the 17 Open division in the 2025 GJNC.

Ella Sanders | Jr. | Outside Hitter | Albuquerque, N.M. | La Cueva H.S. | Towson
One of the CAA's top all around players last season, Ella Sanders earned All-CAA Second Team honors following a breakout sophomore campaign with Towson. After missing the 2024 season with an injury, Sanders came back and appeared in 108 sets across 26 matches and posted 332 kills (seventh in the CAA) and 3.07 K/S (sixth in the CAA) to pace the Tigers. In total she posted 20 matches with double-digit kills, including a career-high 18 against Kent State and Charleston. Defensively, Sanders racked up 45 total blocks and 224 digs. Seven times she posted double-digit digs, eclipsing 20 three times, and earned seven double-doubles in the process.
Prior to her time in Towson, Sanders began her collegiate career at Delaware State in 2023, playing in 90 sets across 27 matches. Her 231 kills were the second most on the team, while her 208 digs ranked third. This earned her All-MEAC Rookie Team and All-MEAC Second Team honors. All in all, Sanders brings 563 kills, 432 digs, 78 blocks, and 49 aces to the Seawolves.
Ellery Singleton | Jr. | Setter | Menlo Park, Calif. | Woodside HS | New Hampshire
A veteran setter with postseason experience, Ellery Singleton comes down to Stony Brook after two years with New Hampshire. Splitting setting duties her freshman and sophomore years, she totaled 651 assists, 194 digs, and 40 service aces in 50 matches (172 sets). As a first year she earned America East All-Rookie honors after racking up 426 assists and 118 digs. That year, she played a key role in New Hampshire's NCAA tournament run in 2024. In two matches in the America East tournament she recorded 39 assists, eight digs, and two aces, before adding 11 more assists and seven digs at No. 8 Arizona State in the opening round of the NCAA tournament.
Damisi Osibodu | So. | Middle Blocker | Katy, Texas | Jordan HS | William & Mary
Damisi Osibodu is making the trip up to Stony Brook from Williamsburg, Va. following a solid showing in her rookie season in the CAA with William & Mary. As a freshman, she played in 43 sets and 14 matches, recording 47 kills and 58 blocks, including 12 solo blocks. In her collegiate debut at UMBC she recorded four blocks, before adding another six against Norfolk State in her very next match. Against Towson she posted 11 blocks; the second-most blocks ever by a Tribe freshman (10/10). In total she had eight matches with at least five blocks.
