Senior Gulce Nazli Dikecligil (Istanbul, Turkey) and freshman Kelsey Sullivan (Hamilton, Va.) were honored by the America East at the conference's awards banquet last night, being named to the All-Conference second team and All-Rookie team, respectively. This is the second time Dikecligil has been named to the conference's second team in her career.
Dikecligil finished the 2008 season averaging 3.60 kills/set, 2.29 digs/set and 0.66 aces/set. She ranked second in the nation in aces/set and 77th in kills/set. She led the America East in kills/set, aces and points. She posted a career-best .230 attack percentage and ranks fifth in aces and eighth in kills in the Stony Brook career record book.
Sullivan had an impressive freshman campaign, finishing third in the America East in assist/set with a 9.65 average. She totaled 1,042 assists including 65 against Central Connecticut State University, which was a new school-record for assists in a four-set match.
