Stony Brook, N.Y. - Stony Brook's men's and women's tennis teams made it look easy in their final regular season matches of the season this afternoon, as both teams shutout Hartford be identical 7-0 scores. The two Seawolf seniors that played their final home matches went out in impressive fashion, with Sandy Wijeratne (Melbourne, Australia) and Victoria Vovsha (Forest Hills, N.Y.) both winning their singles matches by 6-0, 6-0 scores.

In the men's match Stony Brook (8-6) had no problems taking the doubles point, winning all three contests by 8-1 scores. In the singles matches the Seawolves were impressive, winning all six in straight sets. In three of the matches Stony Brook players did not allow their opponents to win a game. Junior Youssef Fassi-Fehri (Fes, Morocco), sophomore Alex Markovich (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and freshman Will Allen (Winchester, England) all won their matches by 6-0, 6-0 scores. In the other three matches Stony Brook was nearly as dominant, dropping no more than one game in any set of those contests as the Seawolves polished off the win.

Stony Brook's (7-7) women were just as impressive as the men. They too swept through the doubles matches, led by an 8-0 win at No. 3 by Vovsha and freshman Fanny Charliquart (Gueugnon, France), the duos ninth straight win.

With Wijeratne and Vovsha cruising through their singles matches at Nos. 3 and 6, Charliquart matched them with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4 over Jess Ruggles. Junior Erica Federgreen (Scottsdale, Ariz.) won 8-0 at No. 5, giving Stony Brook four singles wins without dropping a game. The Seawolves completed the sweep with straight sets victories at No. 1 and No. 2 to pick up their seventh win over their last eight outings.

Both teams will now prepare for the America East Championships which will be held on April 25-27 for the women and April 27-29 for the men in New Haven, Connecticut.
