Stony Brook, N.Y. - The America East portion of Stony Brook University's women's basketball team's schedule has been released, announced head coach Michele Cherry on Friday. Conference play begins January 2, leading up to the America East Championship on the weekend of March 4, which will be hosted at the University of Hartford in conjunction with the men's championship for the first time in the history of the tournament. All of Stony Brook's games will be carried live on either WUSB or on www.GoSeawolves.org.

For the first time in six seasons the Seawolves will open America East play on the road on January 2, facing Hartford, a qualifier for last season's WNIT. SBU then heads home on January 6 looking to avenge last year's one-point loss to New Hampshire. Playing its third game in seven days, Stony Brook takes back to the road on January 9 to play the Bearcats of Binghamton.

Stony Brook then hosts a mid-week matchup with reigning regular season champion Boston University on January 13 before traveling to Orono, Maine on January 16 to take on the Black Bears. A tilt against Albany on January 19 is the Seawolves final home game of the first half of the schedule as they finish up on the road with games against Vermont on January 24 and UMBC on January 28. Rounding out a busy January, SBU will host Hartford on January 30 as part of a doubleheader with the men's team which will face Boston University.

Opening February on the road, the Seawolves travel to New Hampshire on February 3 before returning to Pritchard Gymnasium on February 6 to host Binghamton. A pair of road games--at Albany on February 10 and at Boston University on February 17--sandwiches a home matchup with Maine on February 13. This game will be part of the Seawolves' second doubleheader of the season with the men's team hosting Binghamton following the women's contest.

The Seawolves finish the season out with their only consecutive home games on the schedule, taking on Vermont on February 23 before UMBC on February 27.

The 2010 America East Championship will be held at the University of Hartford's Chase Family Arena on March 4-7 as the conference's men's and women's basketball championships will be held in a combined format for the first time in the league's history. The title games will both be held the following weekend, with the men's championship game on Saturday, March 13 and the women's final on Sunday. Both will be held at the site of the highest remaining seeds.

All season ticket packages are now open to the general public and can be purchased at the Stony Brook University ticket office, by phone at 631-632-WOLF or online at www.goseawolves.org.

The athletic ticket office is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, and is located in the left corner of the atrium in Stony Brook Arena. Fans can also reach the ticket office by email at SeawolvesTickets@StonyBrook.edu.
