Stony Brook, N.Y. - Stony Brook University's softball team has been recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaches' Association for its success in the classroom, earning a Girls Got Game Team Academic Award. The Seawolves finished the 2008-09 season with a team GPA of 3.33, the 27th best mark in Division I. Stony Brook jumped 11 spots from last season's ranking and is the only America East team in the top 60.
