Cambridge, Mass. -
Senior Kelsi Fanelli (Audubon, N.J.) has been named the America East and ECAC Player of the Week, according to a pair of releases from the conference offices. Fanelli led Stony Brook to a 3-1 conference record this week, hitting an even .500 in 22 at-bats and driving in nine runs. This is the second time this season Stony Brook has received the America East Player of the Week honor and a first for the Seawolves for the ECAC award.
Fanelli, who is currently riding a ten-game hitting streak, had four multi-hit games for the Seawolves, including a 3-for-4 performance in non-conference action against Rutgers. Stony Brook's all-time leader in career steals also swiped two bases this week, improving her mark to 49 stolen bases.
