Stony Brook, N.Y. -
Sophomore Kevin Crowley (New Westminster, B.C.) has been named the SimplexGrinnell Stony Brook Athlete of the Week after his performances in Stony Brook's two games in the America East men's lacrosse tournament.
On Wednesday he helped lead the Seawolves to an 18-12 victory over Albany in a semifinal tournament game with a goal and four assists. His goal halted a 2-0 Albany run that had brought the Great Danes within striking distance in the first quarter. He then assisted on three other first half goals that helped build a 10-5 halftime lead that Albany could not overcome.
At UMBC in the championship game on Saturday night he matched his career-high with four goals to lead Stony Brook in its bid for the America East title. He scored the first goal of the game and then the last two of the contest as he tried to pull the Seawolves back even with the Retrievers in the final quarter.
