Men's Basketball Set To Host UMBC on Monday

Stony Brook, N.Y. - Stony Brook University men's basketball team will try to return to the win column on Monday, hosting the UMBC Retrievers in America East conference action at Pritchard Gymnasium. Game time is set for 5 p.m. The game will be televised live on MSG Plus and can also be heard on WUSB 90.1 FM and goseawolves.org. Fans can also follow the contest through gametracker at goseawolves.org and live video stream at AmericaEast.TV.

Television Information
Eric Frede (play-by-play) and Frank Sullivan (color analyst) will be announcing the game on MSG Plus, which is Channel 72 on Cablevision, channel 635 on DirecTV, channel 413 on Dish Network and channel 80 on Verizon Fios. This will be one of seven Seawolves games that will be televised this season. The game can also be seen on the Mid-Atlantic Spors Network (MASN) and ESPN360.com.

Radio Information
Mike Solano (play-by-play), Curt Hylton `91 (analyst) and Jeff Bernstein '92 (analyst) will broadcast Monday's contest locally on WUSB 90.1 FM and goseawolves.org. The pre-game show kicks off at 4:45 p.m.

Last Time Out
Sophomore Dallis Joyner (Norfolk, Va.) scored a career-high 17 points and senior Muhammad El-Amin (Lansing, Mich.) added 15 but Troy Barnies scored 12 of his 18 points in the second half as the Maine Black Bears rallied for a 67-61 win over the Seawolves on Saturday afternoon at Alfond Arena.

Joyner scored 13 of his 17 in the first half and also finished the game with nine rebounds. Sophomore Tommy Brenton (Columbia, Md.) had six points and a game-high 12 rebounds.

A Look At UMBC
The Retrievers (1-16, 0-4 AE) enter Monday's game off a 76-69 loss at Albany on Saturday night, its seventh straight defeat. Sophomore guard Chauncey Gilliam scored 21 points for UMBC, which led by six at halftime. UMBC ranks second in the America East in field goal percentage (.443) and three-point field goal percentage (.412) since the start of conference play. Sophomore Chris De La Rosa is second in the America East in assists per game (4.6) for the Retrievers, who are last in league in scoring defense (73.9 points per game).

vs. UMBC
UMBC leads the all-times series, 8-7. The Seawolves won both meetings last year after losing five of the previous six. El-Amin averaged 17.0 points per game in the two games last season, including 19 in the Seawolves 69-61 win at UMBC in the conference opener. Stony Brook shot a combined 51 percent from the field including 45 percent from three in the two meetings last season.
