Sophomore guard Bryan Dougher (Scotch Plains, N.J.) of the Stony Brook University men's basketball team was named the SimplexGrinnell Stony Brook Athlete of the Week on Monday after scoring a career-high 30 points, including a career-best eight three-pointers in Stony Brook's 84-75 win at Boston University on Saturday afternoon.
Dougher scored 21 of his 30 points in the second half against the Terriers, helping the Seawolves to their first ever regular season win at BU. The eight made three-pointers set the school's Division I record and tied the program's all-time record.
The Scotch Plains, N.J. native also scored 18 points in Stony Brook's 69-60 victory over Holy Cross on Thursday. Dougher averaged 22.0 points per game in the Seawolves three games last week and shot a combined 70.8 percent (17-for-24) from three-point range.
