Slaughter Earns Conference Honors For Second Straight Week

Cambridge, Mass. - Freshman middle blocker Evann Slaughter (Clinton, Md.), of the Stony Brook University volleyball team, has been named America East Rookie of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday. It is the second straight week that Slaughter has earned the honor.

Slaughter recorded 15 kills and three blocks against both Binghamton and Albany last weekend. She hit .393 against the Bearcats before hitting .520 against Albany. Slaughter ranks in the top-10 in both hitting percentage and blocks per set during conference play.

The Seawolves are the No. 4 seed in this week's America East tournament, and will take on top-seed and host, Albany, in the semifinal round on Friday. Match time is set for 7 p.m.
