About the Game: Stony Brook faces a stiff road test as it takes on nationally ranked Notre Dame of the BIG EAST conference. This is the second all-time meeting between the two teams, and the Fighting Irish won the first matchup back in 2006. This is the second of two BIG EAST teams Stony Brook is facing this year, and the second of three America East teams Notre Dame is battling. SBU is looking for its first-ever win over a BIG EAST team and a nationally ranked opponent.

Scouting Notre Dame: The Fighting Irish are led by 11th-year head coach Mike Brey, who has taken the team to the NCAA Tournament six times in his tenure including last season during a 23-12 campaign. Brey's squad is off to a 9-1 start despite losing Luke Harangody, the school's second all-time leading scorer, to graduation. The team won the 2010 Old Spice Classic in Orlando after beating Georgia, California and Wisconsin. The Irish have a scoring margin of +14.8 as they average 79.5 points per game while holding op- ponents to 64.7. Ben Hansbrough is the team's leading scorer and ranks fourth in the nation in three-point field goal percentage.

Last Time Out: Stony Brook took a 75-66 loss to Sacred Heart at home last week despite 18 points from Bryan Dougher, who made six three- pointers in the game. The Seawolves fell victim to a Pioneers team that had its best offensive out- put of the season, including 75 points and 45.5 percent shooting. The Seawolves committed 18 turnovers and made only 65 percent of their free throw shots.

Last Time vs. Notre Dame: On Dec. 30, 2006, the Fighting Irish connected on 15 three-pointers and shot 50 percent for the contest in a 95-66 rout of the Seawolves. Russell Carter made seven of the 15 three-pointers all by him self as part of a 23-point day. Mike Popoko and Mitchell Beauford led Stony Brook with 14 points.
