Stony Brook, N.Y. -
Senior middle blocker Ashley Headen (Alexandria, Va.), of the Stony Brook University volleyball team, has been named to the COBRA magazine All-Northeast Region team, the publication recently announced.
A first team all-America East selection, Headen ranked third in the America East with a .319 hitting percentage and ranked second on the team with 326 kills. She led the Seawolves to the America East tournament and recorded double-digit kills in 10 of her last 11 matches.
COBRA magazine's purpose is to celebrate the success of volleyball players of African descent in hopes of encouraging black girls across the country to pursue the sport.
