Cambridge, Mass. - Senior Alyssa Struzenberg (Cooper City, Fla.) and freshman Jerrica Kang (Lynwood, Wash.) were named the America East Softball Pitcher and Rookie of the week, respectively, after the first week of play, according to a release from the conference office on Monday. Struzenberg picked up a pair of victories while Kang hit .400 in the first four games of her collegiate career.

Struzenberg, who recorded a five inning no-hitter in her first start of the season, struck out 23 batters in 16.0 innings. She allowed just one earned run in three starts for a 0.44 ERA. Kang went 4-for-10 with four runs scored and an RBI. She drew three walks for an on-base percentage of .538 and also swiped three bases.
