Former Stony Brook men's lacrosse player Rhys Duch '08 was recently named to Team Canada's final 24-man roster for the 2010 World Lacrosse Championships in Manchester, England. Duch joins Seawolves head coach Rick Sowell, who will be an assistant with Team USA, as Stony Brook's participants at the World Championships.
Duch, a 23-year-old forward from Victoria, British Columbia, will be making his first appearance at the World Championships. He is the reigning National Lacrosse League Rookie of the Year after setting a rookie scoring record with 89 points in 2009 with the San Jose Stealth. In nine games this season, Duch has 41 points (15 goals, 26 assists) with the Washington Stealth.
Duch was a two time all-America East selection for the Seawolves and in his senior season ranked fifth nationally in assists with an average of two per game.
