Washington, D.C. - The Greater Washington Sports Alliance and University Club of Washington D.C. has announced that junior Kevin Crowley (New Westminster, B.C.) of the Stony Brook men's lacrosse team has been named one of five finalists for the 2010 Tewaaraton Award, given to the most outstanding collegiate men's player. Crowley joins Ken Clausen (Virginia), Ned Crotty (Duke), Curtis Dickson (Delaware) and Joel White (Syracuse) to make up the five finalists.

Crowley earned unanimous America East Player of the Year honors in 2010. A three-time All-America East first team selection, Crowley leads a potent Seawolves offense with 46 goals and 25 assists. He currently ranks second in Stony Brook history with 170 points and recorded the fourth most goals in a season in school history. Crowley led Stony Brook to an unbeaten record in conference play and its highest ranking in school history (#6).

The selection process began with a list of over 100 of the nation's top men's and women's collegiate players, which was then narrowed down to a selective list of fewer than 50. Of these, ten have been named as finalists, five men and five women, in which only two will be able to walk away with the sport's top honor.

All finalists will be invited to the June 3rd Tewaaraton Award Ceremony taking place in Washington, D.C. at the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian. This is the third time that the ceremony has taken place in the Museum which includes an exhibit on the Native roots and history of lacrosse.
