Former Stony Brook men's basketball guard Muhammad El-Amin scored 47 points in a Hungary League game this past Wednesday and subsequently was named Eurobasket.com Hungary Player of the Week for his efforts.
El-Amin, playing for Hungary's PVSK Pannon, was 7-for-11 from the field, including 6-for-11 from three-point range, and also made 15-of-16 free throw attempts for his 47 points. El-Amin also had six assists and four rebounds. PVSK Pannon defeated Szedeak 104-84.
El-Amin earned Player of the Week honors by posting a 54 efficiency, which is a set formula used by Eurobasket.com
El-Amin graduated from Stony Brook in May 2010 after two seasons on the men's basketball team. He led the Seawolves in scoring in 2009-10 and was named the America East Player of the Year while leading the team to a 22-10 record, the America East regular season championship and a postseason NIT berth.
