About the Game: Stony Brook looks to end its road trip on a high note by taking down first-place Maine, winner of four straight games, in Orono. This is the 24th all-time meeting between the two teams, and the Black Bears lead the series 15-8 and have won seven of 10 matchups in Orono. Strangely enough, both of these teams have played Colgate, Notre Dame and Columbia this season and both went 1-2 against them.

Scouting Maine: The Black Bears are off to a fantastic start in America East play as they hunt their first-ever regular season and conference championships. The team already has wins over preseason No. 1 BU and defending tournament champion Vermont. The Black Bears also have two signature non-conference victories over the Big Ten’s Penn State and the Atlantic 10’s Massachusetts. The team leads the conference in shooting (46.4 percent) and scoring (70.0 PPG), led by forward Troy Barnies, who is averaging a blistering 18.3 PPG during conference play. All-Conference guard Gerald McLemore is right behind him at 15.5 PPG.

Last Time Out: Stony Brook led Boston University for most of their matchup, but BU’s John Holland scored 13 consecutive Terrier points in the middle of the second half as part of a 29-point night to lift his team to a 67-62 win. Stony Brook was strong offensively early on, but was only 7-for-27 from the field in the second half. Dallis Joyner led the Seawolves with 15 points.

Last Time vs. Maine: On Feb. 10, 2010, the Seawolves shot 53 percent from the field and received 24 points from Muhammad El-Amin and 23 points from Chris Martin in an 83-64 rout of the Black Bears at Pritchard Gym. SBU dominated in all facets of the game, building a 23-point halftime lead and leading by as much as 30 in the game. SBU outrebounded Maine 39-22 and had 24 second chance points.
