Senior midfielder Kevin Crowley (New Westminster, British Columbia) of the Stony Brook men's lacrosse team has been named a candidate for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award, it was announced today.
Lacrosse Magazine's Division I Preseason Player of the Year, Crowley, a 2011 preseason first-team All-American, posted one of the best seasons in school history last season. He scored 51 goals and had 26 assists in leading Stony Brook to the NCAA Quarterfinals. Crowley was a finalist for the Tewaaraton Award before being awarded the USILA's Raymond J. Enners Award for the Most Outstanding Division I player.
Crowley is one of 20 candidates for the award, which will be announced on May 28 at the NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship in Baltimore.
To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence - community, classroom, character and competition. The list of candidates follows this release.
