Women's tennis continues strong play at Seawolves Classic

Lewisburg, Pa. - Junior Nini Lagvilava (Tbilisi, Georgia) and senior Katherine Hanson (Smithtown, N.Y.) advanced to the Flight A singles finals to highlight a day of strong performances for the Stony Brook women's tennis team on Day 2 of the Seawolves Classic on Saturday.

Lagvilava won in straight sets in the quarterfinals and semifinals while Hanson won in three sets in the semifinals and will face Lagvilava in the finals on Sunday. Senior Prerana Appineni (Hyderabad, India) advanced to the finals in Flight C Singles.

Appineni and junior Chloe Pike (Bristol, England) advanced to the finals of Flight B doubles. The duo will face Lagvilava and freshman Polina Movchan (Kiev, Ukraine) in the finals.

The Classic will conclude on Sunday with finals play in addition to one-on-one doubles.
