Stony Brook plays its final road games of the season this weekend, taking on Albany and Hartford in a pair of critical America East matches. The Seawolves are in search of a berth into the America East Championship for the third consecutive season, and wins this weekend would go a long way towards achieving that goal. The Seawolves and Great Danes battled a very competitive four-set match last month at Pritchard Gymnasium, but they fell short 3-1. SB knocked off Hartford in four sets that same weekend at home.

Last Time Out: Junior Evann Slaughter had an outstanding .414 hitting percentage while recording a team-high 14 kills, but the Stony Brook volleyball team fell short of beating UMBC, losing in straight sets (25-22, 27-25, 25-19). SB was unable to get past a tough UMBC front-row corps that recorded 15 blocks. Freshman Melissa Rigo had 11 kills to extend her double-digit kills streak to 19 matches.

Scouting Albany: On the surface, the Great Danes had a tough start with a 3-10 record going into conference play. But UA has turned things up in America East, going 7-0 so far, with none of the matches going to a fifth set.  Sara Pope has been a star for the Great Danes, leading with 3.20 kills per set. Viktroiia Stroilio leads the conference in digs at 5.41 per game. The Great Danes are searching for their fifth straight regular season championship.

Scouting Hartford: The Hawks started conference play 0-4, but they have wins in two of their last three matches, including a big five-set win over New Hampshire to get them back in the playoff race. Sareeta Nethersole has been dominant for the team, ranking second in the league in kills per set at 3.65 and fifth in hitting percentage at .245. Jackie Tamburri has been the league's best server at 0.43 aces per set.

Rigo Power: On Oct. 8, Melissa Rigo was named America East Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season. She currently leads the conference in kills per set at 4.30, the only player in the league to average over 4.0.

Up Next: Stony Brook returns home for the final four regular season matches. Up first is a Friday night affair with Providence on Nov. 2 at 7 p.m.
