Quick Look: With the graduation of 11 seniors and a new head coach, Stony Brook will have a new look and feel to it. First-year head coach Jim Nagle, who won 86 games in 10 years at Colgate, has a proven track record as the Seawolves look to advance to their fourth straight appearance in the America East Championship game.
About The Game: Stony Brook will begin its 30th season of varsity lacrosse against Fairfield. Saturday's game will be the first against the Stags since 2002. The Seawolves lead the all-time series, 4-1. Stony Brook was picked to finish second in the America East preseason poll.
Scouting Fairfield: The Stags were picked to finish third in the ECAC behind Denver and Loyola. Seniors Brent Adams and Drew Palmer were named to the preseason team. Adams and goalie Charlie Cipriano were named to the Tewaaraton Award watch list. Cipriano was the ECAC Goalkeeper of the Year last season. Fairfield returns eight starters on a team that advanced to the conference championship.
