The Stony Brook University baseball team's four-game series with Hartford scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at Joe Nathan Field has been moved up to Friday and Saturday due to the threat of inclement weather on Sunday. First pitch on both days is set for noon.

Freshman Cole Peragine tallied a season-high four RBI including a three-run double to cap a five-run third as the Stony Brook baseball team defeated the Rhode Island Rams, 8-2, on Wednesday at Joe Nathan Field. The Seawolves improved to 25-10 with the win and have won 11 of their last 13 games.

The Seawolves are in second place in the conference standings at 5-2 through two weekends of America East play ... senior Tyler Johnson's 1.12 ERA ranks sixth in the nation ... junior Maxx Tissenbaum and senior Pat Cantwell rank first and second, respectively, as the toughest in the nation to strikeout ... Tissenbaum has struck out just once every 38.7 at-bats and Cantwell once every 36.3 at-bats ... the Seawolves also rank nationally in several team categories including fielding percentage (fifth), triples (sixth) and ERA (20th) ... junior Willie Carmona was named America East Player of the Week on Monday and freshman Cole Peragine earned the conference's Rookie of the Week honor ... Carmona hit .571 with 12 RBI in six games last week while Peragine hit .526 with eight RBI ... Carmona is hitting .368 and leads the America East in home runs (seven) and RBI (35).
Scouting Hartford
The Hawks are 1-5 through two conference weekends and are 9-25 overall. Hartford is hitting .260 as a team and its pitching staff is allowing six runs per game. James Alfonso's .330 batting average leads the team. The Seawolves swept a four-game set from the Hawks last season.
