LIVE: STATS

Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Stony Brook softball team (20-8) will look for its sixth straight home victory on Tuesday when Long Island University visits University Field for a single game at 4 p.m. The Seawolves have outscored their opposition 34-2 in their last five home games.

Last Time Out
The Seawolves are fresh off a solid weekend in Boston, during which the team took two of three games from conference rival Boston University. Stony Brook won Saturday's game 1-0 and Sunday's opener 4-3, before falling 8-3 in the final matchup. Through six America East games, the Seawolves are tied for first place with Albany at 5-1.

Long Island
The Blackbirds have already played 39 games this season and own 11 victories, despite playing a very challenging schedule. Long Island has faced four ranked opponents thus far, including three in the top-15, and has split two games against America East opposition with a win over Boston University and a loss to Maine. Senior Sterling Hoham leads LIU with 15 RBI, while classmate Sarah Reynolds leads the team with 137.1 innings pitched to go along with a 3.52 ERA and five wins.

Home Run Derby
The Seawolves have hit 16 home runs through 28 games this season; last year the team had just 14 in 49 games. Freshman Shayla Giosia (Runnemede, N.J.) paces the Seawolves with five long-balls, while senior Lauren Maloney (Las Vegas, Nev.) has four. Overall, seven different players have hit a homer this year.
