Freshmen Melissa Rigo (East Northport, N.Y.) and Nicole Vogel (Costa Mesa, Calif.) each recorded double-doubles and the Stony Brook University volleyball team gave Big Ten foe Indiana all it could handle before ultimately falling in four sets (25-20, 25-13, 26-28, 25-23) in the opening match of the Black Knight Invitational on Friday afternoon. It was the season opener for both teams.

The Numbers Game
• Rigo had a game-high 17 kills on a .310 hitting percentage to go along with 12 digs
• Vogel tallied 37 assists and a game-high 16 digs
• Junior Evann Slaugher (Clinton, Md.) had four block solos and four block assists
• Senior Greta Strenger (Woodburry, Minn.) recorded 11 kills on a .308 attack percentage
• Rigo had four of the Seawolves five service aces

• SB trailed 19-15 in the fourth set but scored five straight points to take the lead before Indiana scored six of the final nine points to clinch the set and the match
• Indiana led 19-13 late in the third set but the Seawolves rallied back with an 11-4 run to take a 24-23 advantage
• Slaughter later clinched the third set with one of her nine kills; Rigo had six of her 17 kills in the third
