Stony Brook, N.Y. - Freshman outside hitter Melissa Rigo (East Northport, N.Y.) has been named the America East Volleyball Rookie of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday. It is the second consecutive week she has earned the honor.

Rigo averaged conference-bests of 5.56 points and 4.89 kills per set over the weekend at the Yale Classic. Named to the All-tournament team, Rigo tallied a match-high in kills in each of her three matches last week.

Rigo leads the conference in kills per set (4.52) and aces per set (0.57) and ranks third in hitting percentage (.252).

The Seawolves (1-5) return to action this weekend for Fordham's Rose Hill Classic.
