About the Game
- The #Seawolves begin the second season, a little bit early this year, as they play their first America East game of the season at New Hampshire.
- This is the 27th all-time meeting between the two teams, and UNH leads the series 14-12, but the #Seawolves have captured six straight games, including the last three in Durham. Expect a low-scoring affair as neither team has cracked the 70-point mark in any of the last six matchups.
- Stony Brook is the two-time defending regular season champion in America East and has a 28-4 league record over the last two seasons.
- The #Seawolves were picked to finish second in America East in the preseason poll.
Scouting New Hampshire
- The Wildcats were picked to finish fifth in America East by the coaches. They finished last season tied for seventh in the league with a 5-11 record. They are looking to return to the top of the league and have three talented seniors leading the way.
- So far in 2013-14, UNH opened the year with impressive wins over Suffolk University and Duquesne, but have since lost six straight. The Wildcats have struggled on offense, only scoring as much as 63 points during the six-game slide. This comes after averaging 89 points through the first two games.
- Chris Pelcher has been a rock in the middle for UNH, averaging 13.7 points and a league-best 11.8 rebounds while also blocking 2.5 shots a game. However, he will not play today after suffering an injury.
- Patrick Konan is UNH's other double-digit scorer, averaging 12.5 points while shooting 45.5% from the field.
If Stony Brook Wins...
- Stony Brook will open conference play 1-0 for the sixth straight year.
- The #Seawolves will improve to 29-4 in the league since the start of the 2011-12 season.
