Senior Nini Lagvilava (Tbilisi, Georgia) of the Stony Brook women's tennis team will face Michigan's Ronit Yurovsky in the first round of the NCAA Division I Singles Championship on Wednesday. The match is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. ET.
Lagvilava, who played in the No. 1 position, enters the Singles Championship with a 14-2 record in dual matches. The two-time defending America East Player of the Year recently led Stony Brook to its second straight conference championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament.
Yurovsky, the Wolverines' No. 2 singles player, went 19-5 in dual matches as a freshman. She went 1-1 in Michigan's two NCAA Team Championship matches.
The University of Illinois is the host of the Division I Tennis Championships.
