Stony Brook, N.Y. – After a sweep of UMass Lowell Sunday afternoon at Pritchard Gymnasium, the Stony Brook volleyball team will look to continue its winning ways when it hosts Seton Hall Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Last Time Out

Bolstered by 27 assists and seven digs from senior Hannah Dolan, Stony Brook (12-10, 3-3 America East) swept UMass Lowell Sunday afternoon on Senior Day at Pritchard Gymnasium. Redshirt senior Evann Slaughter posted a match high of eight kills on .438 hitting and led the contest with three stuffs. The Seawolves recorded 15 aces, their second-highest output of the season, with five of those aces coming courtesy of freshman Emily Costello. Junior Stephanie McFadden notched three aces.

Scouting Seton Hall

Seton Hall (18-4) saw its 12-match winning streak come to a close Saturday in a 3-1 loss at Marquette. Stacey Manthorpe recorded 26 kills in the contest and leads the Pirates in kills per set (3.45). She is second on the team in digs per set (3.53).

Series History vs. Seton Hall

Seton Hall topped Stony Brook in three sets Oct. 22, 2013 in South Orange, N.J., and owns a 7-1 lead in the all-time series.

History Made

Teammates Lo Hathaway and Melissa Rigo made the Seawolves’ match vs. New Hampshire Oct. 18 one for the history books. Hathaway passed Claire Linder (2003-06) for the program’s all-time Division I digs record when she recorded her 1,361st dig in the third frame. Rigo became the ninth player in program history and first since Alicia Nelson in 2011 to reach 1,000 career kills on her 14th and final kill of the night in the fourth set. Impressively, it only took three years for Hathaway and Rigo to hit these milestones.

Fearless Leader

A rising star in the collegiate volleyball coaching ranks and a tenacious recruiter of student-athletes, Pawlikowski is a three-time recipient of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Thirty Under 30 award. She was hired on January 16, 2013.

In her first year at the helm, Pawlikowski guided to Seawolves back to the America East Championship and mentored a pair of all-conference picks in Kaitlin Costello (first team) and Stephanie McFadden (second team). Stony Brook consistently ranked near the top of the country in aces per set, finishing the year 10th at 1.69. The Seawolves are also excelling off the court under her watch and were honored with their first AVCA Team Academic Award.

A tenacious recruiter, Pawlikowski added six promising Seawolves to the roster in her first full recruiting class as she looks to build a championship program. She served as the defensive position coach at Wisconsin, helping the Badgers lead the Big Ten in digs per set as a team and boast the individual digs champion.

Pawlikowski previously worked as the top assistant coach for her alma mater, Northern Illinois, from 2009-12, where she helped guide the Huskies to a 2011 Mid-American Conference regular season title and an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament.
