Junior Jameel Warney (Plainfield, N.J.) of the Stony Brook men's basketball team earned America East Player of the Week honors for a second straight week, the conference announced Monday.
Warney averaged 12.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 2.0 blocks in victories over American and No. 13 Washington.
His bank shot over 7-2 Robert Upshaw with 30 seconds left gave the Seawolves their first lead over the Huskies, 59-57.
Warney had a career-high six assists against Washington, including the assist on junior Carson Puriefoy's (Wenonah, N.J.) three-pointer that tied the game at 57 with 1:09 left.
It's the fourth America East honor for Warney this season.
Stony Brook will open America East Conference play on Saturday, January 3 against New Hampshire at 2 p.m.
