Final Stats
Charlotte, N.C. - Sophomore Melissa Phelan (Saddle Brook, N.J.) went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored and senior Olivia Mintun (Neoga, Ill.) had a three-run triple to lead the Stony Brook softball team to an 11-2 win over Liberty in the third-place game of the 49er Classic.
Head Coach Megan Bryant's Reaction
"It was really important for us, and our progress as a team, to come out and finish well today. We played smart, aggressive softball. Our pitching and defense were good, but the high point was how we swung the bats and produced offensively."
