Faceoff: In the second of three straight games at home, the Stony Brook men’s lacrosse team will host No. 1 Maryland at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium. Saturday’s game will be the fourth straight season the Seawolves have played the No. 1 team in the country and ninth straight season playing a top-five opponent.
Opponent: Maryland will enter the game as the nation's top-ranked team after defeated No. 1 Duke, 10-6, last weekend. Suffolk County native and senior Mike Chanenchuk leads the team in goals (12) and assists (5). Chanenchuk is one of seven Long Island players on the Terrapins roster. Senior Niko Amato has a .683 save percentage and a 5.46 goals against average.
Series: Maryland has won both of the games played in the series, 16-4 in 2003, and 13-7 last season.
