Tipoff: The Stony Brook men's basketball team will close a four-game, eight-day stretch Sunday afternoon at Binghamton. The game will be televised live on AmericaEast.TV.
Last Time Out: Juniors Rayshaun McGrew (Chicago, Ill.) and Jameel Warney (Plainfield, N.J.) combined for 28 points and 15 rebounds in Stony Brook's 65-45 win over UMass Lowell Thursday night at the Costello Athletic Center. McGrew finished with game-highs of 15 points and eight rebounds.
Warney posted 13 points and seven rebounds. Four other Stony Brook (13-8, 4-2 America East) players had at least eight points, including redshirt freshman Roland Nyama (Frankfurt, Germany), who added nine.
Freshman Deshaun Thrower (Muskegon, Mich.), sophomore Ryan Burnett (Richmond, Va.) and junior Carson Puriefoy (Wenonah, N.J.) had eight points apiece.
Matt Harris hit four threes for UMass Lowell (9-11, 3-4) and finished with 12 points.
Opponent: Binghamton is playing for the first time since last Monday, a 64-44 loss to Vermont. Freshman Willie Rodriguez had 12 points against the Catamounts. Rodriguez, who is averaging 10.4 points and 5.2 rebounds per game, has scored at least 20 points three times.
Series: Stony Brook has won nine straight over Binghamton and leads the all-time series, 34-25. The Seawolves have won 16 of the 31 meetings against the Bearcats since joining Division I in 1999.
