Tipoff: The Stony Brook men's basketball team will head to Manhattan to take on Columbia Tuesday night at 7 p.m. Tomorrow night's game is the second of a home-and-home series with the Lions.
Last Time Out: Juniors Jameel Warney (Plainfield, N.J.) and Rayshaun McGrew (Chicago, Ill.) each posted a double-double in a 71-61 victory over New Hampshire last Saturday. Warney accounted for his nation-leading 12th double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds. McGrew added 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Junior Carson Puriefoy (Wenonah, N.J.) was 10 of 11 from the free throw line and finished with 12 points.
Opponent: Columbia is coming off a 72-64 loss to St. Francis Brooklyn last Tuesday. Maodo Lo led four scorers in double figures with 17 points in a game that the Lions never led. Lo is the only player to average double figures, taking a 17.8 average into tomorrow's contest. Opponents are averaging 58 points per game against Columbia.
Series: Stony Brook leads the all-time series, 9-6, including a 57-56 victory to open Island Federal Credit Union Arena in November. McGrew hit a layup with seven seconds left. The Seawolves are 19-17 all-time vs. Ivy League opponents.
